We talk about Mabe pearl. Mabe pearl is called the half of pearls like dome stadium. Almost Mabe shell produces this pearl, in addition Tahitian pearl and south sea pearl shell produces too.

The way of cultivation is differ from other pearl cultivation. At first, living shell is put into its shell with cement for half circle, drop and heart shape. The shell mantle has the property of growing thick and big for pearl. Then it gives the nuclear shells. With some years, the pearl of the half-circle shape appears inside shell.

Pearl necklace strand: Pearl Seiwa

Do you know the type of necklace’s strand? There is three type strands; Uniform, Gradation, and Multi-color. Please let us introduce each necklace strand types.

Uniform

With making pearl necklace, the size of akoya pearl will be almost the same size. Specifically it will be “Akoya pearl necklace 7-7.5mm.” It means that it’s more than 7mm, and less than 7.5mm. Being the almost same size, it will be more beautiful when you wear it.

Gradation

The center pearl is the biggest one, and will be smaller one to the edge gradually. It will be called “Gradation necklace.” Generally, Tahitian pearl and south sea pearl adapt this type. For example, “Tahitian pearl necklace 8-11mm” means that the size of its center pearl is 11mm, and the size of edge is 8mm. At first glance, you will see the same size of pearl necklace, but it will be made with gradation for more beautiful.

Multi-color

It will be used some color pearls of necklace, and be characteristic necklace. It’s called “Multi color necklace.” South sea pearl necklace and Tahitian pearl necklace adapts this type.

Spot the Difference: Pearl Seiwa

Do you understand the difference between two pictures? Find the differences between the two pictures. Each picture has 1 pair of akoya pearl.

It’s a difficult question. The answer is its color of pair.

At fisrt, look at left picture. This is akoya pearl earrings. Its color is white. The pair is very good. On the other hand, how about right picture? There is akoya pearl earrings, too. But take a look! The left side pearl is white color, but right side pearl is white pink color. There is a little difference of pearl color. What do you think which pearl earrings is good and has high value? It’s left pearl earrings. If the color of pair is not same, it’s not beautiful and disheveled. You will be more beautiful with good sense of unity.
